My uncle, Mike Huggins, founded TYP after a series of events within his own life that led him to prison.

During his stay, he shared his yoga & mindfulness practice with his fellow inmates and witnessed incredible changes in their personal growth, mental health, and  general happiness.

He found that yoga could serve as a therapy and build emotional tools against the traumas of living in well as the traumas that came before incarceration, such as homelessness, drug abuse, and domestic violence.

After prison, he founded TYP in an effort  to help people from all walks of life find healing through empowerment.

YBIC is committed to body love by developing, promoting and supporting yoga that is accessible, body positive and reflects the full range of human diversity.

Our goal is to shatter the media's depiction of the stereotypical "yoga body"; and promote accessibility through all modalities of yoga.

Our mission not only advocates yoga as an essential tool in personal transformation, from the inside out, but also includes a critical social justice component by challenging industry leaders and media creators to expand their vision of what a yogi looks like.

(It also doesn't hurt that the women & men involved in our efforts are all equally incredible, inspiring, and badass!)

i care about planned parenthood because my heart aches at the thought of a young girl, feeling lost and totally alone, unable to get necessary education about her own health

how can we expect anyone to make effective decisions for themselves if they're not given access to the full suite of information?

PP  isn't an "abortion clinic"; they provide family planning services and critical women's health support for those who don't have access to affordable healthcare.

they've also provided more than a quarter-million pap tests and over 370,000 breast exams in a single year - these services are critical in detecting cancer.
